When you arrive at the Astor Place Theatre, you will pass through some security screenings. This may include things like metal detectors, wands, and manual checks. Please allow plenty of time for these inspections.
The Astor Place Theatre bag policy
There is no specific bag policy when attending The Blue Man Group at the Astor Place Theatre. However, bringing smaller, clear bags will help you pass through security quickly. Any large bags, full-sized backpacks, and luggage may be refused entry, and will have to be checked or stored off-site during the performance.
Prohibited items at The Astor Place Theatre
The list of prohibited items at the Astor Place Theatre includes, but may not be limited to, the following:

» Alcohol
» Laser pens
» Noise making devices
» Illegal substances of any kind
» Oversized bags, backpacks, and luggage
» Pets
» Any items that security personnel deem dangerous or unacceptable.
Cash policy at The Astor Place Theatre
The Astor Place Theatre is a mostly cashless venue. However, some outlets may accept cash payments. Please bring both payment types just in case.
Ticket policy at The Astor Place Theatre
Tickets for the Astor Place Theatre are usually delivered electronically via email or mobile app. You will not typically receive a paper ticket.
Smoking policy at The Astor Place Theatre
As an indoor venue, the Astor Place Theatre does not allow smoking of any kind inside at any time. There may be designated external smoking areas — please ask staff during your visit.
The Astor Place Theatre child policy
Blue Man Group performances at the Astor Place Theatre have a minimum recommended age of three years. Due to loud noises during the show, children are advised to wear ear protection. All visitors, no matter their age, must have their own seat and ticket.
The Astor Place Theatre pet and service animals policy
Pets and emotional support animals are prohibited at the Astor Place Theatre. However, ADA service animals are permitted in the performance of their duties.
Dress Code
There is no specific dress code, but patrons are recommended to wear comfortable clothing, and if sitting in the poncho area (see below section) are revised not to wear any clothing that requires dry cleaning.
Show Specifications
Those sitting at the front of the stage will be provided with ponchos to protect members of the audience to protect from edible or washable projectiles flying off stage. Please bear this in mind when booking seats.
